How to winterise your caravan or motorhome in preparation for the winter
One of the most important things to do (whether storing your vehicle for the winter or inbetween usage during the winter months) is to make sure you always drain down the water systems.
Frost and freezing conditions can leave you with cracked taps, split pipes and even damage to the water tanks and systems themselves. This can lead to costly repairs and replacements.
How to drain your Caravan or Motorhome

To drain everything down open all the drain down valves inside and outside the vehicle. Also open all the sink and shower taps to drain any residual water (Leave these open in the middle position between hot and cold on mixer taps). Some people prefer to remove the taps completely and store them for the winter. Only do this if you are confident about being able to remove and reinstall them. Also make sure the Thetford cassette toilet and flush tank is emptied.
