As Spring approaches and you start to plan your next caravan or motorhome holiday, it is also the ideal time to make sure your vehicle is in tip top condition for the new season.

One of the most common problems encountered at the start of the season is damage done to the water system through frost damage over the winter. It is always advisable, before your first trip away, to fill up your fresh water containers or onboard tank and run some water through the system to check for leaks. The same goes for filling your flush tank and checking the toilet system. That way you can get any problems sorted before you leave for your holiday! And remember: having the details of your vehicle, tap brand, water pump type etc to hand makes it far easier for us to help you get the right spare parts if necessary.

It is also wise to run your heating and hot water systems and charge your leisure battery to check for any problems.

Please don’t hesitate to call us on 01362 696434 if you encounter any problems or need any further advice. Assuming all is well, you can start getting your van prepped and ready to go!

We sell a wide range of caravan and motorhome cleaning products at great prices, ranging from the renowned Fenwicks Caravan Cleaner to the new and innovative OneDryWash waterless caravan cleaning system (both on special offer this month!).

Inside your vehicle, it advisable to cleanse your fresh water system. We have Puriclean fresh water system cleaner on offer this month at £4.99.

We also have tank fresheners and waste water container cleaners to keep these clean and fresh! Also, don’t forget you need to change your water filters at regular intervals. We have the Carver Water filters and the Aquasource Clear Water Filters on special offer this month.

You should also check the lip seal on your Thetford toilet cassette. If you need to replace it we sell the lip seals for both newer models and pre 2000 models. Be sure to use a silicone lubricant to keep the lip seal from becoming brittle and allow the tank lid to slide open and shut easily.

Finally, remember to make sure your vehicle is roadworthy by checking tyre pressures (refer to your handbook for the correct tyre pressures for your vehicle) and make sure all your lights are working (indicators, tail lights etc) before you set off! Remember, we are here to help if you need any help or advice.
