Thatcher…….RIP
This is not somewhere you generally find tributes to a former Prime Minister. Maybe not, but Margaret Thatcher was no ordinary Prime Minister. Leaving aside whether you agreed with her opinions or policies, Margaret Thatcher changed the UK forever. Firstly I believe her resolve cannot be questioned after she became the first woman in Westminster, taking on the male dominated corridors of power, and single handily changed Great Britain from a post war nationalist economy into the leading market driven economy we are now.
Don’t get me wrong, she made some very unpopular and much berated policy decisions, introducing the disastrous Poll Tax, and took on the Unions head on, but today as I reflect on her passing whatever your position with regard to her political views, I feel she deserves respect for earning her knickname ‘The Iron Lady’ and believing in the ‘Great’ in Great Britain.
