This concerns Single Axle Unicorn models (Seville,Madrid, Valencia, Almeria).

Following a small number of wheel detachments on new single axle Unicorn caravans Bailey is considering a product recall on the aforementioned Unicorn models. Until this can be clarified, as a safety precaution, we are reminding all owners of the necessity of torquing the wheel bolts in accordance with the guidelines laid down in their Owners and Service Manuals prior to travelling with the caravan.

The correct torque setting for the Alloy wheels fitted to the current Unicorn range is 110 Nm (81 Ft/lbs)

The wheel bolts should be tightened in sequence (each opposite fixing in succession) using a calibrated torque wrench. DO NOT use a corner steady brace or an electric power wrench as it is as dangerous to overtighten as to undertighten the bolts. As per the instructions in the manual this should be done before every journey made with the caravan.

If you are unable to carry out this task yourself please call Jonathan Lewis on 01362 696434 for advice.

We will keep you informed on this technical bulletin page of any follow up action and advice as soon as we are informed by Bailey.
